K ansas City, Missouri is located right on the state line of Missouri and Kansas. The city is the 36th largest city in the country, with a population of 442,768. It is immediately surrounded by several other cities, which combine to create a metropolitan area of almost 2 million residents. Loose Park has a miniature lake, tennis courts, paths, and its famous rose garden which has been the site for many weddings. Swope Park has the Kansas City Zoological Park, and the Starlight Theatre. One can also stroll through the city admiring the many fountains the city is famous for. The 18th & Vine district offers jazz concerts at the Gem Theatre and the Blue Room. The sports scene in Kansas City is vibrant. The Kansas City Chiefs, Royals, Comets, and Knights are a huge source of local pride. From football and baseball, to soccer and basketball, residents of this city love their sports! There are an impressive number of colleges and universities in the Kansas City area.
